The Atlantic Coast Conference released schedules for its 12 conference members on Wednesday. Florida State Seminoles will open the season at home against Miami on September 5 (Monday night) in a prime time nationally televised game. FSU will travel to Boston College on September 17 in what will be Boston College's first-ever ACC football game.
"Our 2005 Florida State Seminoles football schedule provides a good balance in terms of home and road games and affords us good spacing regarding our open dates," said Florida State Seminoles Director of Athletics Dave Hart. "Boston College joins our conference this year which sets the stage for divisional play and the inaugural ACC Championship Game at ALLTEL Stadium in Jacksonville on December 3. That is certainly a date everyone will point toward."
Florida State Seminoles, which finished second in the ACC in 2004 with a 6-2 record, will play conference members Miami, Wake Forest, Maryland and NC State at home in 2005, along with The Citadel and Syracuse. The Florida State Seminoles will travel for games against Virginia, Duke, Clemson and Florida.
Florida State Seminoles and the ACC will release game times at a later date.
